8 Months Old!

Hi! My name is Jack and I am 8 months old.  Mama and Daddy tell me I have learned more this past month than ever and that I am such a smart little boy.  Here are a few things going on in my life right now.

• I wear 12 month clothes, weigh an estimated 19 lbs and wear a size 3 diaper.
• I love to eat and I drink 4 bottles a day and also eat a solid breakfast, lunch, & dinner.
• I love to eat just about anything except spinach.  On Thanksgiving, Mama made me my very own plate of black eyes peas, butter beans, dressing, and sweet potatoes and I ate every bite...She has obviously been holding back on the good stuff!
• I am crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything.  Mama is always saying "No No Jack" when I am heading to something I am not suppose to get into.  I am not sure, but I think that means "Crawl Faster Jack".
• I have always been a quiet baby until a couple weeks ago.  I found my voice and I want EVERYONE to hear it.  I especially like to sing loud when I go to big church with my Nana and Pops.
• My Mama wants me to say "Mama" SO bad.  She says it to me over and over and over all day long.  When she says it, I like to stick out my tongue and blow a wet raspberry in her face instead.
• I just started imitating "Uh Oh" this week.  Mama says she is proud of me even though it isn't "Mama".
• Still no teeth.

• I got my first black eye earlier this week when I hit my head on the bottom of the coffee table.  Mama was more upset than I was and Daddy called it my war wound. 
• I love my Daddy and am a Daddy's boy, UNLESS I am tired, hungry, or hit my head on something :), then I want my Mama.
• Daddy and Mama let me spend the night will Nana and Pops for the first time couple of weeks ago.  It was SO fun and I can't wait to do it again.  Mama said she missed me, but I think she had a good time on her date with Daddy and she got to stay in bed ALL morning.
• I still LOVE my bed and sleep GREAT at night...11-12 hours.  I now sometimes fight my afternoon nap because I would rather play, but still take a good 2 hour morning nap and if Mama's lucky I'll sleep about 1 1/2 hours in the afternoon.

Daddy and Mama say I am growing so fast and Mama says I need to slow down!  Daddy tells me about all the fun things, like duck hunting, I can do with him when I am older so I don't want to slow down growing.... But then Mama rocks me and sings "He's Got the Whole World In His Hands" every night and I am glad I'm still a baby.

*A note from my Mama:  This 8 month photo shoot was by far the most hilarious.  The boy WILL NOT STOP MOVING....EVER!  We can no longer take pictures in his chair because he lunges forward trying to escape.  The only way I could get him to be still was to let him chew on the sign....or his elf hat :)

A Certified Crawler

A little over a week ago Jack graduated from the "scoot" to the "crawl". 

I guess hands and knees are already too boring for him since he now is trying to use his feet.......well foot :)

Around Here

We have been busy this week with lots of little things.  We have been attempting to capture the perfect Christmas card picture.

This has been MUCH  more difficult than I thought it would be!

Jack has been watching the deer in our back yard.

I'm not sure if he wants to go out and play with them or shoot them like his daddy and Uncle Cade :)

There has also been a little tv watching...Jack's new favorite show, Barney.  It drives me crazy, but keeps him happy while I mop the floor.

And then there is Jack's new favorite activity...emptying baskets.

He takes one thing out at a time, inspects it, then in true little boy fashion, he throws it as far as he can.

That's our week in a nutshell :)

Busy Boy

What have we been up to???

A lot of crawling EVERYWHERE.

A little of pulling up on EVERYTHING.

A tad of getting into ALL THINGS.

And just a smidge of getting upset EVERY TIME Mama says "no no" and redirects me to my toys.

2 years down, 78 more to go!

Three years ago this week, I had a first date with a very good friend.  I wasn't even sure if it was a date or not.  We "hung out" all the time, but I had developed a little crush and was hoping it wasn't just me who considered him picking me up, taking me to a nice restaurant, and paying a date :)  Well, turns out is WAS a date and 7 months later we were engaged and 5 months after that we were married.  SO, exactly 1 year after our first date, I married my best friend.  I cannot imagine my life without Allen.  Happy Anniversary Hubby....I hope for 78 more years just like the 2 that have passed!

Pulling Up

Jack has been doing this for a couple of weeks...

But I really thought he wouldn't pull up past his knees for a while.  He hasn't even tried to get up to his feet (or so I thought).  I walked into his room Tuesday morning to find this...

I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me and inspected further to find this...

I guess my days of having candles, picture frames, and McCarty sitting out on the coffee table and end tables are over :)

A Sweet Puppy and His Giraffe Buddy

We headed over to the King's on halloween night for a little Trick or Treating.  These little guys were the cutest puppy and giraffe Oxford has EVER seen! 

Wyatt and Jack all smiles for the camera....we rarely capture BOTH boys smiling at the same time!

Before we headed over to the Kings's we did a little trick or treating in our neighborhood at the Deston's and Cissell's.  By the way neighbors, Jack LOVES his halloween "happys" both of you gave him.  We have the best neighbors in the world!  We had to pose Jack in front of the Deston's house...his first time trick or treating :)

I have to add the last 2 pictures of first a silly puppy, then a very sleepy puppy :)

We had a wonderful 1st Halloween with Jack are looking forward to ALL of Jack's 1st holidays!
