Christmas 2011

We had a wonderful Christmas! This year was so much fun with Jack! He loved being around all his family and he got really excited about opening presents. My little Witt was in hog heaven being held all day long :-). We spent Christmas eve with my dad's side of the family, spent the night with Allen's parents, got up at 7 and did Christmas morning at my parents in our pj's, headed back to Allen's parents for the rest of the morning before heading to Minter City for the afternoon with my mom's side of the family then back to Allen's parents for Christmas with his extended family on Christmas night. Was that a run on sentence? Well, our day was a run on day :-). As wonderful as it was, we realized that we will probably give something up in the coming years so the boys don't think Christmas day is just a rush of activities. Here is a glimpse of the weekend. Hope ya'll had a merry, merry Christmas too!

P.E.

I feel like part of my job as stay at home mom is not only caretaker, educator, cook, and maid, but also physical education coach :-). So in p.e. classes this past week, Witt has been working on his sitting skills. He loves being upright... I guess everything looks different. He also is relieved when I blow the whistle and say practice is over... Relax and suck on your fingers. Sweet baby boy!

Ho Ho Came Early!

Starting last year we made a deal with Santa for him to visit our house a little early since we go to Grenada for Christmas. So yesterday was our "pretend" Christmas Eve. The boys looked festive in their Christmas red!

Jack was a good big brother and helped Witt get fastened in his carseat as we headed out the door for a pizza dinner (very traditional) :)

After dinner, we each got to open 1 gift, then we finished off the night with warm brownies, milk, and the movie Elf. We awoke early this morning to lots of excitement (mine and Allen's of course...the boys didn't have a clue what was going on :)  Jack and Witt must have been good boys this year... Santa brought all kinds of fun stuff! We hope Santa is as good to all of you!

iPhone to the Rescue!

I received an early Christmas present from sweet Hubby earlier this week.... An iPhone! I have been a blackberry user for the past few years so I wasn't sure how smoothly the transition would be. Um, I'm obsessed and don't know how I did without it this long! :). I'm hoping this little phone will help me update the blog more often! Here is pic of my happy little guy playing away in the "circle of neglect"

Learning...

I am learning a lot these days.... a lot from my very active, funny, smart, cute, rambunctious, loud toddler.  I am learning to not laugh when I put him in time out and he gives me this fake sweet smile... I am learning that when things get really quiet I better go and see what he is up to and be prepared to find a mess... I am learning to watch what I say when this little parrot boy is around... I am learning patience (ALL DAY LONG)... I am learning how magical Christmas is to a 20 month old... I am learning about the healing power of a kiss on a bumped head or a scraped knee... I am learning how very fun a game of hide and seek can be... I am learning how to make dinosaur sounds and tractor sounds... I am learning that the job I have, being a mama to little boys, has got to be the greatest job ever!
