A Seusstastic Birthday Party!

Jack celebrated his 2nd birthday Dr. Seuss style!  We had a few friends meet us at Cloud 9 (a place filled with inflatable jump houses) on Thursday afternoon for a couple of hours of jumping, eating, running, playing, and more jumping!  I think everyone was worn out by the end of the party.... Mission Accomplished!  Here is a look at his precious invitation that Emily at 29:11 Creations did for me.

I LOVED having Jack's party at Cloud 9... all I had to do was show up with cupcakes and juice boxes.  They took care of everything else!  My kind of party!!!

The cupcakes tasted as good as they looked!  Shelly Parker of Sweet P's Cupcakes in Calhoun City made them for me and they were so perfect!  The little "happi sacks" on the right side of the table were the party favors filled with jelly beans and a toothbrush for each friend.  Only the grandchild of a dentist would hand out toothbrushes at his birthday party :)

Jack was full speed the entire party.  If he wasn't running through the jump houses, he was playing with the train table!  (SSSHHHH, don't tell him, but I believe he might be getting a train table for his birthday tomorrow :)

Jack LOVED blowing out his candles....probably the highlight of the entire day!  He has been practicing for a month now :)
Jack and his friends had a BLAST playing!  We had one 3 year old, 7 two year olds (or almost 2 year olds), a one year old, 2 seven month olds, and a sweet little 1 week old in attendance.  Jack has such sweet little friends!

Witt had a BLAST flirting with his little girlfriend, Pearson.  They were SO funny smiling, talking, and reaching for each other!

And this picture just melts my heart!

Jack had a WONDERFUL birthday party and we are getting ready to celebrate more tomorrow with our family!  I can't believe my sweet baby will be TWO tomorrow!!!

Mom, Look What I Can Do!

Did you about have a heart attack when you saw the picture above??? Because I did!  Witt plays in the floor in my room when I get ready in the morning and I was drying my hair and looked over to see the little chunk in the stance above.  I about fell out!  I mean, he JUST starting scooting, what made him think he could pull up?!?!?!  Instead of clapping and making him do it for me again and again (which I'm sure was  my reaction when Jack first pulled up), I snapped a quick picture, then sat him down and told him he should wait maybe another month until he tried that again.  He is a BABY!!!!  I don't want him doing these things quite yet!  He is just trying so hard to be big like his brother.

Speaking of brother, Jack had his school pictures this morning, so we went out on the front porch to practice his smile before school.  Um, I think he may need to practice a little more.  Hopefully he did a little better at school :)

Witt is 7 Months Old!!!

Witt Cravens, you turned 7 months old last week (3/15/12)!  You are growing so fast and are such a BIG boy!  Here are some things going on in your life right now...

  • I'll saw it again, You are BIG!  You weigh a little over 20 pounds and have sweet little rolls ALL over your body!  You wear a size 3 diaper and size 9 and 12 month clothes.  You eat fruits and veggies for breakfast, lunch, and supper and you take 4 bottles a day (a total of 26 ounces of milk a day).  You drink water with a little splash of juice out of your sippy cup at supper and you LOVE your sippy cup!
  • You love your paci and are already completely attached to your little brown lovey.  I had your lovey in the dryer the other day when I put you down for a nap, so I gave you a different one and you would not have it!  Thankfully 15 minutes later your brown lovey was dry and as soon as I gave it to you, you put it up to you face and closed your eyes.  I might better go ahead and buy an extra so we will get to sleep if you ever lose yours!

  • You are still just the happiest little baby I know!  Everything is funny to you!  It only takes a look from your Mama, Daddy, or Brother to throw you into a fit of giggles.  I hope you ALWAYS laugh as much as you laugh now!
  • You love to talk and squeal and blow raspberries.  Your newest communication skill is the grunt.  You use it to tell us that you don't like something or that you are having to work hard at something.  My favorite it when you grunt after a big bite of green peas... you don't really love green peas, but you sure aren't one to refuse food!  So you just grunt to let me know that you will eat it, but you would rather have bananas :)
  • You have a head full of hair that is becoming quite unmanageable!  It is MUCH thicker than your brother's hair was at this age, but like your brother's, it just doesn't want to lay down.  But you are the cutest little thing with your wild hair, so Mama just lets it go :)

  • You are a Mama's boy and I LOVE IT!  You love for Mama to cuddle with you and you will reach up and touch my face and talk to me with the sweetest little voice!  I don't want you to EVER grow out of this!  As much as you love your Mama, you have already discovered that Daddy is your playmate and you are already trying to get in the middle of Daddy and Jack's before bed wrestle time.  You love to play with your brother (when he's not pushing you over and telling you to move...we are working on big brother's "being sweet to baby brother" skills) and you think Jack is hilarious... I can tell you want to be just like him :)
  • Your schedule is flexible and you have become such a good "flexible" baby.  You wake up around 7:00 and drink a bottle, have breakfast around 8:00, take about an hour long nap at some point (most of the time in the carseat or stroller because we try to get out of the house most  mornings), have a bottle and lunch at 11:30ish, nap with Jack from 12:30 -3:00, afternoon bottle when you wake up, supper at 5:00ish, and bottle and bedtime at 7:30.
  • About 2 weeks ago, you decided you wanted something that was out of reach, so you just scooted over to it like you had been moving all your life.  There are has been no stopping you since.  You army crawl (very slowly, but with lots of enthusiasm) all over the place now!  You love to get wedged under furniture :)  You still sometimes will roll as a way of transportation and just this week you have been getting up on all fours and rocking, but can't seem to figure out how to go. I am amazed that you are able to get that big body of yours to go where you want it to go, but you do show that is takes a lot of energy with all the grunts that go along with your army crawling :)

Witt, you are such a good, easy baby!  Your daddy and I love having you as our little boy and we can't wait to see what the future holds for you!

Brothers

Mama's running buddies early one morning this week.
Decked out in red for Valentine's Day.  Last year at this time we announced Witt was on the way... What a difference a year makes!  :)
Witt is so intrigued with whatever Jack is doing.  He LOVES watching his big brother play, and now that he is beginning to move, he loves to be right up in the middle of whatever Jack it doing... and Jack is working on his sharing abilities :)
BATH TIME FUN!  Is there anything cuter than 2 little babies in the bathtub?!
Jack LOVES to help feed Witt!  And sweet little Witt is very patient when his big brother pulls the bottle out of his mouth 43 times.

Witt loves being outside!
Jack was showing off his muscles here...ha!  Also, he is a little obsessed with wearing cowboys boots... such a little BOY!
HUGS :-)

Time is flying by SO fast and I am having a hard time sitting down to blog about it!  I cannot even describe how much I love being a Mama to these 2 sweet boys!

Jack is at such a FUN age... He will be 2 in a couple of weeks and that BLOWS MY MIND!  He is talking more and more everyday and is putting 2 words together now.  I never thought the day would come that he would start forming short sentences... ha!  It has made this speech therapist mama learn to be very patient (and constantly drill familiar words, colors, names, ect...).  He is such a good little listener and almost always listens to what I say and follows directions.  Now that doesn't mean he always obeys.... remember I said he is almost 2!  We are learning what those terrible twos are all about!  He goes non stop when he is awake.. running, sliding, jumping, marching, and rolling flips.  He is an active little thing.  He mostly ignores his baby brother, but does have some "loving" moments :)  He also loves to tell Witt "No no" when Witt grabs at a toy...we are working on that :)

Witt is my little charmer!!!!  He will be 7 months old in a couple of days and I still think of him as a newborn baby :)  He is a little chunker weighing in at 20 lbs and has more rolls than I can count (and I LOVE that)!  I have never in my life seen a baby smile and laugh as much as this little boy!  He thinks everything about life is just hilarious :)  He LOVES his big brother and does not take his eyes off of him all day long.

I just moved the boys into a room together and they (and I) LOVE it!  Jack is sleeping in the bottom bunk of the bunk beds (and has not once gotten out of the bed without me coming to get him out!...I am shocked about that, but SO PROUD of what a big boy he is!).  We moved Witt into Jack's crib and he loves to peek over the bumper pad and see his big brother :)  Sweet brothers!

I'll be back in a couple of days with Witt's 7 months post.  Maybe I can spark a blog revitalization :)
