Witt is 6 Months Old!!!

February 15, 2012 - Witt Cravens, you are 6 months old!  This is a BIG birthday because you are half a year old!!!  The time is FLYING by and we are having so much fun with you!  Here are some things going on in your life right now...

 

• You are a BIG boy!  You haven't had your 6 month check up yet  so your Mama is going to have to guesstimate your weight.  I am thinking you are right at 20 lbs...you are HEAVY! You wear a size 3 diaper and 9 months in clothes.
• You drink a total of 32 ounces of milk a day...You obviously love your milk!  You eat breakfast (fruit and oatmeal) and supper (2 veggies).
• You are sitting up on your own, but your Mama puts your boppy pillow behind you because you still topple over sometimes.  You  can sit and reach for toys without falling forward.  You now get to sit in the big boy front seat of the buggy when we grocery shop and the highchair when we go out to eat and you LOVE getting to see everything!
• You are trying SO hard to move!  Right now you are a roly poly and you will roll all the way across the room to get to where you want to be.  You try to scoot forward by kicking your legs and swinging your arms.  You haven't quite figured out that your "swimming" technique isn't going to get you anywhere :-)  If your Mama puts your arms in front of you, you will pull yourself forward, but then you forget how you did it and you go right back to kicking.
• You are THE happiest little baby I have ever been around!  You smile and laugh all day long!  You love to "talk", blow raspberries, and your newest favorite trick is squealing...you love to hear yourself :-)  I think you might be my more verbal child.
• You are definitely a Mama's boy! You have a little separation and stranger anxiety, but you normally are only upset for a minute.  This past week you went to the nursery for the first time at church and the gym and you were a perfectly happy little baby while Mama was away.
• You are a little attached to your Mama, but you L.O.V.E your daddy!  As soon as he walks in the room, your little face lights up.  You are definitely going to be a Daddy's boy when you get a little older.  For now, I am enjoying the fact that you are still a Mama's boy :-)
• You don't have any teeth yet, but I am wondering if you are teething.  You have been waking up a few times at night and fuss for just a few minutes before you settle back down.  You also have become a little drool monster and you keep your fingers or a toy in your mouth all the time.

 

• You sleep from 7:30 pm to 6:30 am and take a morning nap (which is flexible, because we are normally away from home in the mornings) and a long (2-3 hour) afternoon nap.
• You love your paci, but only get it when you are sleeping or in the car.  I am so surprised that your brother has not tried to take your paci since he threw his away last month.  He did bring me your paci yesterday and tell me it was "broke".  I guess he thought I should throw yours away as well :-)
• You love your big brother.  You watch him play all day long and I know you can't wait to be able to chase after him!

Witt, you are the sweetest little guy and your daddy and I are so blessed to have you!  We can't wait to see how you grow over the next 6 months!
