Welcome to the world Warf twins!

The little guy above is SO excited to tell you about his new friends!  Avery and Silas Warf were born yesterday and we hear they are PERFECT!  We can't wait to meet them!
Don't they look like little baby dolls?!?!  Good job Mama Meredith and Daddy Bruce!
(Photo stolen from the twin's grandmother's  facebook page.  Great picture Ding Ding....now known as Mimi)

Highchairs and Outside

Jack has "practiced" sitting in his high chair a few times, but never really used it until tonight.  Due to the fact that he is a little small for it AND that it has no safety straps, I improvised.  Jack was tied to the chair with one of Allen old neck ties :)  Worked GREAT for us!

After supper we decided to have a little playtime outside.

The grass is a good place to practice sitting up!

Playing with toes :)

Mama being the tickle monster

Note: A few of you have asked where the quilt Jack is ALWAYS on came from.  Sorry to tell you that it is one of a kind :)  Allen's grandmother,  Mimi, made it for us when we got married.  I love it and so does Jack.  He has spent many many minutes rubbing his little hands across the colors.

5 months old!

Hi, my name is Jack and I am 5 months old today.

Here are some facts about me and my life :)
  • I love to eat!  Oatmeal and bananas are my favorites for breakfast.  I just started eating lunch this week and eat a yellow vegetable (my favorite!) at lunchtime and for supper I have rice, a green vegetable, and if I am still hungry Mama gives me a little dessert (apples or pears....mmm mmmmm).
  • I like my milk best of all and my Mama nurses me 4 times a day.  Sometimes I get a bottle if Mama isn't around.
  • I wear a size 2 diaper but Mama says I'll be in a size 3 diaper very soon if I keep eating the way I do.
  • I wear mostly 9 month clothes and Mama says I need to slow down growing so I can wear all my "cute clothes".  Daddy gets mad at Mama for saying my clothes are "cute".
  • Daddy and Mama think I have some teeth somewhere trying to come in.  I don't have any teeth yet and don't know what the big deal is, but all I know is my gums hurt and I drool a whole lot.
  • I love love love Big Bird and Cookie Monster.  I have a toy of each and I could kiss them and slobber all over them all day long.
  • I reach for my Mama and Daddy to pick me up when I am on the floor playing.  Mama  loves when I reach for her and she always picks me up.  I think I have her trained :)
  • My Daddy gets me out of the bed every morning and I give all my best smiles away then.  He sings a song about Mr. Jack and plays with me for a minute before he shares me with Mama.
  • I love going to WalMart.  There are so many bright colors and weird people to look at.
  • Cuba is my best friends and I like to pull his hair.  Mama says he is scared of me, but I know he loves me too because he is always sniffing my diaper.
  • Daddy gives me a bath every night and I LOVE bath time.  He sings a song about washing all my fat rolls (daddy like to make up silly songs).
  • I am not allowed to sit in my Bumbo Seat anymore unless Mama or Daddy are RIGHT THERE.  I like to try to escape from it....I think it is funny, but Mama says I am going to give her a heart attack.
  • I like to roll all over the place, I talk and smile and laugh alot, I am learning to sit up, but am a little unsteady.  Mama says I am a strong little boy and Daddy says I am a Baby Superman.
  • Daddy wants to take Mama on a spend the night trip, but Mama says she isn't quite ready to leave me.  I am glad, because I like my Mama ALOT :)
  • I miss Daddy when he is at work, but get SO excited when he comes home at lunch to play with me!  Today he even got me out of my crib even though Mama told him I needed a nap.
  • I know I am a loved little boy...I have a Mama and Daddy, a Nana and Pops, a CC and Big Daddy, an Aunt Mea Mea, an Uncle Cade, and an Uncle Kyle and Aunt Regan who all love me SO MUCH and tell me all the time (and give me a whole bunch of kisses).

Also, I refused to smile for my 5 month pictures :)

Shots and Squash

"Say WHAT?! I have to get a shot tomorrow morning?!?!"

"Mama told me I am a tough boy. I didn't even cry and I got a pretty cool band aid."

Jack had a round of shots this morning, but thankfully only got 1 this month. He whimpered for about 2 seconds then was easily distracted trying to grab a toy off of the table. He is growing up WAY too fast.

Jack loves all food so far, but I think squash is on the top of the list.

His little nose to beginning to turn orange :)

Jack's Hair

Poor Baby...he is growing a red mohawk :)

Raider Football

Jack went to his first football game Friday night to watch his Uncle Cade play! He was so good (even though it was WAY past his bedtime) and he was VERY interested in the cheerleaders :) I hate I never got a picture of Jack with Cade. He sat with him during the pep rally Friday afternoon and looked like a miniature football player in his Raider jersey. All of Jack's (& Cade's) #1 fans were at the game and he was passed from lap to lap. Jack is heading to his first Mississippi State game next weekend :)

Sleep, Sippy Cups & Sitting Up

Since the day Jack was born, he has not loved naptime. There are just too many things to do, see and hear during the day! He has always been a champ at sleeping at night, but fights his naps. This issue got MUCH better once we started BabyWise at 11 weeks. For the past 2 months, Jack has taken 2 long (about 2 hour) naps during the day and a little catnap in the early evening. I love naptime! I can get SO much done when I know he is going to sleep for a long stretch! Over the past week though, we are having naptime trouble again. He will sleep for about 30-45 minutes and wake up and I walk in to this...

I know he is still tired, but when he wakes up he thinks it is time to play! I am working on letting him cry for a little while to fall back asleep, but it is hard for me to make him stay in his bed when he smiles and laughs when I walk in the room and cries (with LOTS of added drama) as soon as I walk out the door. I do believe my little boy is a little rotten :)

Also, Jack is learning how to sit up! He can stay up for a few minutes if I put his boppy behind him to help him out a little. This morning I put him in the pack and play and sat him up and put his sippy cup in front of him. I ran and grabbed the camera when I saw how hard he was working to get that sippy cup.

He LOVES his sippy cup...not so much for what's in it, but how it feels on his gums (we are wondering if he is teething). Most of the time I put just a couple of ounces of water in it, but this morning I put a little apple juice in the water and topped it with an ice cube. He works a little harder to drink from it when something sweet is inside :)

Best Buds!

Can you tell these 2 are slightly obsessed with each other. Jack wants to grab some fur and Cuba just likes to be close by (and maybe lick some leftover sweet potatoes off Jack's fingers.) Watch out Cuba, if you don't let Jack grab some fur, Big Bird might replace you!

My Boys

How adorable is that! You all know how I like to dress my little baby...like a little baby. Well, Allen fusses all the time about how our little boy looks like a girl in all his "pretty" clothes. SO, I decided to surpise Allen at lunch today when he came home by having Jack dressed in his big boy clothes. To say Allen was thrilled is an understatement! Allen then decided Jack needed to put his boots on (which may actually fit when he is 2 years old) and have a little photo shoot in the back yard. As cute as it is, I don't think I'm ready for my baby boy to be a boot wearin' man.

I'm back for good!

I officially have internet again!!! Hopefully this will spark a revival of blog posts! LOTS has happened in the past 2 months. Our sweet little man just keeps growing and growing. I can't believe he will be 5 months old next week....how the time flies! We moved into a new house last week and are somewhat settled. I will wait and post pictures after I have a kitchen table and pictures hung :) It is a dream house for us and we are SO very excited to be in it! Here are some quick stats on whats going on with Jack and I'll leave you with a few pictures to see what we are up to these days.
- Jack weighs an estimated 16 pounds
- He began eating solids a few weeks ago and eats rice cereal, oatmeal, bananas, apples, pears, green peas, and sweet potatoes.
- He LOVES Cuba and watches him all day long. He will reach for Cuba and grab his hair. We are very lucky that Cuba doesn't seem to mind!
- If Jack gets something in his hand, it is going straight to his mouth!
- He loves his paci, but only gets it in the bed or car.
- We lucked out having a child who loves to sleep. He sleeps 11 straight hours at night and takes 2 2-hour naps everyday. If he misses a nap, he is in a FOUL mood...just like his daddy use to be so I hear :)
- Mama's milk is still his favorite thing and he nurses 4 times a day taking what I think is anywhere from 6-8 ounces each feeding.
- Jack is learning how to drink from a sippy cup and does a great job, although he really just plays with it rather than drinking anything from it.
- Our little Roly Poly likes to move all around! He is rolling from tummy to back and back to tummy and scoots (unintentionally) all over the place. He rarely stops moving...I am going to have my hands FULL once he starts crawling!
- He reaches for you to pick him up...I LOVE this milestone!
- His daddy can make him laugh more than anything and anyone in the world.
