7 months old!

Hi, my name is Jack and I am 7 months old today!  Mama says that time has flown by and she can't believe I am growing up so fast and Daddy talks about all the fun things we are going to do when I get bigger.  I think Mama wants me to be a baby and Daddy wants me to be a big boy!  Here are some facts about my life right now.
  • I weigh about 17 1/2 pounds.
  • I wear a size 3 diaper.
  • I am wearing 9 month and 12 month clothes.
  • I am just now figuring out how to crawl on my hands and knees with my belly off the ground, but if I want to get somewhere fast, I scoot on my belly.
  • My mama just started saying a new word to me the past couple of weeks. She says "No No Jack" and will pull me away from whatever fun I have gotten into. I am not real sure what "No No" means, but I don't think it is good.

  • My hair still sticks up all over my head.  My daddy calls me Gonzo and my Big Daddy calls me Kramer.  Mama sometimes puts hairspray in my hair when we go to church to try to get it to lay down....it doesn't work.
  • I still don't have any teeth but will chew and drool all over anything and everything!
  • I take 4 bottles of formula a day (about 6 oz in each bottle) and eat baby food or mashed up veggies and fruit for breakfast, lunch, and supper.  Mama has started to give me some real food off of her plate, but keeps telling me I need to grow some teeth then I can have more real food.
  • I love love love being outside!
  • I am trying hard to pull up, but don't quite have it figured out.  I can sometimes get to my knees, but can't figure out how to get my feet under me.  Mama had Daddy lower my bed so when I do figure it out I won't take a tumble.
  • I love music and like to sing along!  My mama tells me I have a beautiful voice.  I always get to watch the first half of Glee with Mama on Tuesday nights while I drink my bottle and I sing along with the people on TV!
  • Patty Cake is my favorite game.  When Mama starts singing, I start "patty caking" her hand.
  • I get SO excited when Daddy comes home.  I squeal and kick my feet and wave my arms.  Sometimes mama says her feelings get hurt because she never gets a "welcome home" with such excitement from me :)
  • Daddy still makes me laugh like nobody else!  My favorite is when he quacks, gobbles, and hoots.  Mama says I am such a boy!
  • Cuba is still my best friend!  I love ALL dogs which is why Mama and Daddy dressed me as a puppy for Halloween!
  • I am still a GREAT sleeper.  I go to bed between 7 and 7:30 and wake up around 6:30.  I take a 1-2 hour nap in the morning, a 2 hour nap in the afternoon, and a 30-45 minute catnap in the late afternoon.  Most of the time I wake up in such a happy mood and will talk to my bunny and play until Mama gets me out of my crib.
  • I am laid back and can "go with the flow." I don't nap when I am away from home, but most of the time I am still happy and a trooper when we are out and about even if I have missed all my naps.
  • I still really like my paci, but only at when I am going to sleep or in the car.  I am also attached to my bunny.  I rub his ears when I am going to sleep.  Mama says it is sweet, but Daddy says he wishes I had picked a more masculine animal to become attached to...haha.
  • I like just about everybody and will go to anyone.  Sometimes I get upset when my Mama leaves the room, but it doesn't take much for me to forget about it.
  • I know my Mama and Daddy  love me because they tell me ALL THE TIME!  They tell me that I am such a good little boy and they can't imagine their life without me.

Swings, Duck Calls, Daddy, and a Happy Birthday!

We have been loving this weather lately...even the warm afternoons :)  Yesterday morning it felt great outside and when the electric company came to my door to inform me the electricity would be cut off for about 2 hours during the morning, I quickly packed a picnic lunch and we headed to the park.  It was Jack's first time at the park and he loved it!  I'm sure we will be spending many many hours there over the next several years :)
As I mentioned a few days ago, Allen has been preparing for duck season this year.  When he is feeding or bathing Jack, he is talking to him about the different kinds of ducks and the different sounds they make.  The poor baby is going to be able to tell you about mallards and pintails before he can tell you about cows and dogs.  Allen says you can never start working on your calling too early.  Jack is already a huge fan of the duck call!
A couple of Sundays ago, we headed to the grove after church for some quick pictures.  Little Man was hungry and tired, so very few of them turned out, but I love this one of the boys walking back to the car :)
Jack wants to send a BIG happy birthday to his CC today!  For her birthday we are giving her Jack for a day...haha.  I am about to meet CC halfway between Oxford and Grenada and he will be spending the day with his CC in Grenada :)  Happy Birthday CC!

The Worm

My little man's slow army crawl is quickly escalating into something faster and more hilarious everyday.  He is trying so hard to figure out how to actually crawl on all fours, but until then????? I guess the worm will have to do!

Note: I apologize for my terrible camera abilities :)  Also, click on the bottom right corner of the video to make the picture larger.

Low Key Weekend

We had a wonderful "stay at home" weekend... something we don't have very often.  We worked on a few house projects (hung pictures and planted a tree), played with some friends, did a little shopping, watched some football and had another great Sunday at church.  The King's came over Saturday night to watch the Bulldogs win and Wyatt and Jack had their very own Rebels vs Dawgs match up.  They have their excited gameday faces on...haha.
Jack might have tackled Wyatt, but Wyatt didn't let go of the football.  Jack's daddy wants Wyatt's daddy to notice it is a MSU football Wyatt is holding onto so tightly :)

I have to add a couple of pics from Sunday morning.  Whoever said "little boys aren't fun to dress" must have not had little boys.

Jack gets really excited about putting on his church shoes.... or maybe it's because he know he can get these shoes off (and in his mouth).

We are already ready for next weekend!  It will be full of fun things...CC's birthday, 6 month pictures, Raider football, Bulldog football, and trick or treating :)

Quack Quack!!!

What is this little fella' laughing at????

His daddy quacking :)

Allen is getting ready for duck season and Jack obviously thinks a VERY loud "Quack, Quack, Quack" on the back porch is hilarious!  I'm not so sure the entire neighboorhood is enjoying the noise as much as Jack... Sorry neighbors!

A Movin' Little Jack

Jack is now into EVERYTHING!  As I type he has crawled over to me and is trying to get into my lap and "play" on the computer.  We just started having to tell him "no" and I feel like I have said "no no Jack" 50 times today.  The crib has been lowered to the lowest setting and plug covers are on all the outlets.  We are now entering a very NEW stage of life :)

Dressed In My Sunday Best!

Jack wanted to show off his new socks and shoes that he wore to church on Sunday.  His daddy walked in and saw him dressed like this and said "Buddy, I'm so sorry Mama dressed you like a girl today."  His daddy and I have a deal....I get to dress him for 3 years, then he can be a big boy and dress like his daddy :)

Mama getting me all spiffied up!

Can't get much more adorable than this!

Let's go!  I'm ready to go to church!
When I picked him up from the church nursery, his shoes were off.  When I asked about his them the nursery workers laughed and said about 2 seconds after I walked out the door both shoes were off and in Jack's mouth. The boy will chew on ANYTHING :)

Chicago Marathon 10-10-10

The Marathon was on Sunday morning, 10-10-10, and we  were lucky enough to be staying between mile 1 and 2.  We (me, Meagan, and Jack) simply got up and walked downstairs and out the front door to watch Allen run by.  After he passed us, we headed over to Dunkin' Donuts to celebrate the fact that we didn't have to run 26.2 miles that morning.  After our 2 dozen donut holes and coffee we walked a few blocks to cheer for Allen at mile 13 and again about 1/2 mile before the finish line.  We never got a good picture of Allen running (either he was running too fast or the camera girl, aka Meagan, wasn't quite sure how to work the camera) but we got lots of cute pictures of this little guy cheering for his daddy :)

Rise and Shine Sleepy Head!  It's time to go watch Daddy run!
I cheered and waved at my Daddy...He even waved back!
Sleepy and Silly boy at the 25.5 mile marker waiting on Daddy to run by
My Daddy is SO cool! And he can run faster than your Daddy :)

Allen reenacted how he felt at mile 23

Off to Boston we go for the Boston Marathon in April!

Chicago!

First of all, let me brag on my hubby :)  Allen finished the Chicago Marathon with a time of 3:10 and QUALIFIED for the Boston Marathon!  I could not be more proud of him and his little boy is mighty impressed with his daddy!
We left Oxford at 3:30 AM Friday morning and landed in Chicago a little after 8:00 AM.  Jack was such a trooper!  Getting through the airport and flying with a baby was easier than I had ever dreamed!  Jack did great on the plane, train, and bus.  He was happy the entire trip...even without his naps!
We did a lot of sightseeing.... The Sears Tower, Lake Michigan, The American Girl Store, Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier, Wrigley Field, and LOTS of good eating (my favorite being Gino's East).
 Jack LOVED the sand!
The Cravens 3 on the top floor of the Sears (now known as Willis) Tower
Allen was a little nervous about standing on the glass ledge :)
Aunt Mea Mea obviously didn't have a problem with it!
Happy Jack just liked to look and smile at all the people around!
Our hotel was a block from the Chicago River....absolutely beautiful!
 SISTERS!
A HUGE thanks to Jack's Aunt MeaMea for tagging along with us...She was a HUGE help and Jack is quite smitten with his Auntie :)
I will post pictures of Jack cheering for his daddy during the race later tonight....hated to have 20 pics on 1 post :)  Chicago was a blast and was beautiful this time of year!
